In the Hornby area, students can develop the skills needed to create a large-scale model town, such as designing layouts, creating scenery using a variety of materials. Students also gain soft skills such as problem solving, teamwork and collaboration. Our leadership program allows experienced students to oversee the overall laying and design of the track and develop their communication skills through teaching other students how to do skills such as flocking and painting. These sessions are open to students every lunchtime, and after school everyday.
“Model club is my favourite enrichment because you get to interact with new people, particularly in different years. It’s also great fun building the tracks and seeing the town develop!” George
“Model Club is important to me because it’s good for learning the history of trains and the national railway, something that I find really interesting.” Eli
