Netball
Netball plays a central role within the Kingswood Sports Academy, supporting students to develop skill, confidence, leadership and teamwork through regular training and competitive fixtures.
Our Netball teams, from Year 7 through to Year 10, have enjoyed an exceptional year, showcasing remarkable skill, teamwork and determination both on and off the court. All year groups took part in friendly fixtures against schools from across Hull and the East Riding, gaining valuable competitive experience and demonstrating excellent progress throughout the year. A standout event was the Hull Active Schools Summer Netball Tournament, where our teams truly made their mark. We are incredibly proud that the Year 7 team finished second overall in the Hull Schools standings, while the Year 8 team secured first place. As a result of their success, both teams have qualified for the prestigious Humberside Championship Round, where they will represent the Academy at the next level. This is a fantastic achievement that reflects the players’ dedication, commitment and hard work.
The Year 7 team, in particular, has made remarkable progress since joining the Academy in September. For many of the students, netball was a completely new sport. They have progressed from learning the basic rules and positions to confidently applying tactics and playing as a united team. Their development has been phenomenal, and it has been inspiring to see their confidence, ability and passion for the sport grow with every match.
